ODHA passes 20 bills embarks on recess

The Ondo State House of Assembly says that it passed 20 bills in 2020 .
The Speaker of the house, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun stated this while reflecting on the activities of the lawmakers in the year 2020 during a plenary sitting in Akure.
Oloyelogun noted that the bills were fundamental to the betterment of the state.
He said that the assembly was highly productive last year, saying that the lawmakers will not rest on their oars at making laws that will impact people’s lives.
The Speaker maintained that the lawmakers were poised for development of the state being representives of the people.
According to him, the assembly has done a great job, defending the constitution of the state despite being financially constrained.
He thanked the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for his leadership style and understanding without undue interference in the legislative duties of the assembly.
The Speaker urged the state residents to observe and follow covid-19 protocols strictly as they embark on various activities.
Oloyelogun, said that the lawmakers would proceed on 8-week recess, commencing from Monday (today).
Earlier, the house passed four different bills for governor’s approval during the sitting.
The bills were; a bill for a law to provide the Regulations of Outdoor Structure for the Display of Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement in Ondo State and for Connected Purposes, A Bill for a Law to Provide for Establishment of Ondo State Public Service Training Institute and for Connected Purposes Thereto.
A Bill to Amend the Law to Protect and Control Fisheries Exploitation in Ondo State and to Prevent Use of Obnoxious Substances in the Process and A Bill to Repeal the Ondo State Electric Power Law.
