By Josephine Oguntoyinbo

Ondo State House of Assembly yesterday passed into law the year 2022 estimates of the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) with a total projection of N11,416,104,852.88k on both revenue and expenditure.

While submitting the joint reports of the House Committees on Finance and Appropriation and OSOPADEC, Mr Sunday Olajide observed that the projected revenue of 40 of 13 percent oil derivation was in tandem with the provision for OSOPADEC in the 2022 budget of the State.

The proposal for personnel cost was increased from N1,270,497,152,30 to N1,500,497,152.30.

Similarly, project development was increased from N5,674,662,898.12 to N6,064,662,898.12.

The Committee recommended that the ongoing projects that are near completion be given the much needed attention with a view to ensuring their completion and put in place more effective mechanism in its internally generated revenue drive.

The Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, in his ruling said OSOPADEC should ensure proper distribution of funds in the estimate for the benefits of people in the mandate areas after the lawmakers have given a nod through a voice votes and upon scaling through the third reading.
