ODHA pledges support for sports

Ondo State House of Assembly has pledged its continued support towards promoting sporting activities in the state.
The House Committee on information, Youth and Sports Development, made the pledged during its oversight visit to the state Sports Council in Akure.
The Chairman of the Committee, Olugbenga Omole who led other members to the council charged the management to keep the flag flying.
While assuring them of legislative backing to achieve the set goal,he said the committee would visit zonal offices of the council to have first hand information about their challenges and activities .
Omole posited that details about the facilities on ground should be submitted to the committee in order to know the level of performance.
He congratulated them on their successful outing at the Edo 2020 sport festival, urging them to do more at the national youth game coming up in Ilorin.
Other members equally charged the council to look inward on ways to generate fund. They encouraged them to keep doing their best towards development.
They observed that the only way to promote and discover athletes is through competitions, hence the need for all hands to be on deck.
Earlier, the General Manager of the Council, Henry Babatunde Omoyele thanked the committee for its support at all time.
Omoyele, who analysed the activities and challenges of the council sought for the support of the Lawmakers towards facilitating the upgrading of facilities at the stadium and completion of administrative block.
While saying that sports is germane to human development, he pledged the Council’s Commitment to effective service delivery.
The committee members were later conducted round the facilities at the sports complex.
