Ondo State House of Assembly has assured of legislative support in ensuring innovative steps in providing adequate lands and shelter at affordable prices for the citizenry.
The Chairman House Committee on Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Abiola Oladapo gave the assurance when he led other Members of the Committee on familiarisation visit to the State Development and Property Corporation in Akure.
According to him, the familiarisation visit became imperative after the inauguration of new standing committees of the 10th Assembly so as to set a stage and ensure synergy to be more effective in line with the State government REDEEMED agenda which is to provide affordable houses for the people.

He said with the new housing estate projects ongoing and the lands planned to acquire in the State, it showed that the gap will be filled.
Other members called for robust relationship as the Committee continue in its engagement with the management of the corporation to enhance development.
Earlier, the General Manager of the Corporation, Mr Nasiru Oseni while reeling out their activities, challenges and achievements to the committee members, informed that the Corporation is partnering with developing firms to develop more property in the state.
The GM who said that part of their initiative is to start building structures at affordable cost and ensure all lands are developed.

He noted that the Corporation is re-engineering the system by making assets attractive to people as well as re- orientate people to strengthen the system.
While stressing that they are in the process of acquiring estate in ldanre local government area, just concluded Estate in Ilara Mokin town in lfedore local government in collaboration with a private firm, he added that they are opening up roads in the new estates as well.
Oseni said that the visit of the lawmakers will go a long way to bridge gap in the system through collaborative efforts.
