The Ondo State House of Assembly has frowned at the alleged extortion of parents by principals in the state government secondary school.

In a  statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Mr Toluwani Borokini, a copy of which was made available to The Hope, stated that the house said it received petitions of alleged extortions going on in secondary schools within the state.

Borokini who is also the House Whip posited that the Speaker of  the House, Mr Bamidele Oleyeloogun had  directed that we look into the petition and preliminary investigation suggested that principals of some of the affected schools were the main culprits of the condemnable  acts.

“This subversion negates the (Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led) state goverment responsibilities at ensuring free education as well as other collectibles for the ease of our students in the state.

“As the Chairman House Committee on Education, Science andTechnology, we strongly advise anyone in this unscrupulous business to desist or be ready to face the music.

“We plead with all stakeholders to complement the present administration’s efforts on education and not jeopardise it as we  continue to contribute our quota geared towards restoring the state to an enviable height of academic excellence”,
