Odimayo boasts of victory
One of the gubernatorial aspirants of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo State , Omooba ‘Jimi Odimayo has reeled out his plans for the people of the state if picked as the candidate of the party.
Odimayo who made his plans known at a press briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Centre, in Akure, said he would transform the state if he becomes the next governor of the state.
The aspirant who is representing Irele/Okitipupa Federal constituency at the House of Representatives said he is qualified because of his antecedents in the political atmosphere and his exposure to politics in the state.
He said if he becomes the governor, he would ensure that 80 percent of agriculture in the state are mechanized.
He also promised to make sugar and high blood pressure drugs free at all healthcare centres across the state.
While appealing to the party not to fall into the hands of the opposition parties, he said the APC has made its landmark in the state and can win any election.
Speaking on some aspirants paying for party members’ dues, he said that is the beauty of democracy.
He said aspirants pay for those that have their interest, noting that even if they pay for them, party members will vote for someone they know during election.
He lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s impact by giving every aspirant a level playing ground to contest in the party primary.
He restated that the President did not anoint any preferred candidate for the party in the state.
The APC gubernatorial aspirant declared that the state is blessed with abundant resources, hence the need to explore and take the state to greater heights.
He posited that if he becomes the governor, he would continue from where his predecessor stopped in terms of health, infrastructure and so on.
He said since the entire state have resolved to zone the governorship seat to the South, he said he was certain he would clinch the party’s ticket to become the next governor of the state.
He boasted that the APC can win election in Ondo State because the State is predominantly APC State and would not want it to slip into the hands of opposition parties.
