It was jubilation and glamour at the weekend as the Odogun of Igbekebo, (Oba) Bamidele S. Dabo received staff of office from the State Government.
Presenting the staff of office to the monarch at the Igbekebo local government secretariat, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by his deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi congratulated the monarch and tasked him to promote unity and peace of the people.
He charged him to use his reign in a way that will bring development to the community.
The Caretaker Chairman, Ese Odo Local Government, Mr. Ojo Omolewa appreciated the leading role played by the state government during the demise and the selection process of the new King.
Omolewa appealed to the monarch to run an inclusive tenure that will promote peace and unity of the ancient community
He charged him to extend hands of fellowship to any aggrieved person or group of persons in the overall interest of the community.
Responding, Oba Dabo promised to pay attention to matters concerning the upliftment of the kingdom’s tradition, security and welfare of the people.
He further promised to build on the legacy of his forefathers by transforming the cultural heritage, infrastructure and social development of the community.
It will be recalled that the Odogun stool became vacant in 2016 after the demise of the HRM. Oba. Emmanuel Omotumilara who ruled the kingdom for 23 years.
The occasion was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life who included traditional rulers politicians and religious leaders.
