ODSFA boss harps on talent devt as Rising Stars begin screening

Rising Stars Football Club of Akure on Monday began screening of players that would represent the club in the coming season of the Nationwide League One (NLO).

Over One hundred players featured in the first day of the week-long screening held at the Ondo state sport complex in Akure.

The Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi,while addressing the intending  players at the screening, said the team was set up to groom talents and not winning competitions.

Akinyemi, however, revealed that he was happy with the plans reeled out by officials of the team and believed it would go a long way in discovering the needed talents.

The ODSFA boss said he was happy with the turn out of intending players from the nooks and crannies of the country, especially, the state.

He advised that the leadership of the team should focus on good players that would be able to fit into Sunshine Stars later in the years.

Akinyemi said there was no short cut to success, especially in football, saying that,” Players like Mikel Obi Ahmed Musa ,you all know them. They all went through these processes and that is why you must be very disciplined.”

“Whether you are from Awka, or Port Harcourt, as long as you were born in the state, you are all eligible to play for Rising Stars and again you know what we are driving at, we are driving to see that we make you something special.

“Football is about discipline, if you are not, you will not get to anywhere. I wish you good luck,” he Concluded.
