The Chairman House Committee on Information and Sports, Mr Olugbenga Omole has charged the management of Ondo State Football Agency to up their games and ensure Sunshine Stars grab continental ticket in the 2022/23 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Omole stated this during the Committee’s oversight visit to the Football Agency.

The House Committee chairman accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Mr Abayomi Akinruntan and the Secretary , Mr Kehinde Adeleye disclosed that Ondo State government was not thinking of selling off Sunshine Stars.

He added that government’s target was to look for investors that will partner with the team for effective management.

According to him, “The best way to make the team attractive to investors is to ensure that they do well in the coming season by ensuring that they get continental ticket.

“No investor will invest on relegated and troubled team, so let us come together and ensure that the team did not only play well in the coming season, but how they will clinch continental ticket.

The welfare of the players is paramount to the government”, he said.

Earlier, the management of the Agency led by its secretary, Mr Ijeh Bekewei welcomed the committee members to the Agency.

He briefed the committee on what the Agency has been able to achieve and what they intend to do.

The management, however, conducted them round the Agency.
