ODSFA pledges total commitment  to Sunshine Stars

One of the Ondo State Football Agency, (ODSFA) board member, Prince Babatunde Ogunja has assured players and officials of Sunshine Stars FC the total support of the Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi led management of the Club ahead of the new Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Ogunja, the Club Director of the Akure Landlords gave the assurance while addressing the team at its base in Portharcourt, moments after their first game against Cynosure FC at Governor Wike Garden City Preseason tournament .

The former junior and senior international praised and thanked the players for their efforts so far in the course of preparations for the new season and urged them to prioritise hardwork and discipline as they go about their duties.

“I appreciate everyone of you for your efforts so far. Know that we are here for real business and you should give your very best, work hard and be disciplined. I assure you of our commitment at the management level, we will do the very best we can to support you and take care of your welfare adequately.”

While reacting on behalf of the players, Sunshine Stars captain, Sunday Abe expressed gratitude to the Director and ODSFA management for showing commitments to the players welfare, and admonished them to attend to the grey areas in the team’s preparation for the new season .

Prince Ogunja also informed the Kabiru Dogo led coaching crew that the Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Aketi government of Ondo State is interested in the team do well this season, imploring the crew to select players on merit.

Dogo responded:-”We thank the management for all they have done so far. I rely on their support. I have 90% of the squad here with me, with unity and the support of everyone Sunshine Stars will have a good season.”

Meanwhile Kolade Adeniji powered home a rocket-like free kick fourteen minutes from time to earn Sunshine Stars a 1-1 draw against Cynosure FC at the Sharks Stadium, in the day one of Governor Wike’s Garden preseason tournament Cup .

While coach Dogo tutored side improved on their first Group A match, as they defeated Bayelsa United 2-1 .
