ODSG assures Apoi of more devt

Ondo State Government has assured the people of Apoi land, in Ese-Odo local government area of the state of more human and infrastructural developments.

The state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, gave the assurance at the first coronation anniversary of Kalasuwe of Apoi Land, Oba Sunday Adejimola Amuseghan.

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, highlighted some of its administration’ strides in the land, pointing out that it had renovated all primary schools in the local government area.

Akeredolu said the general hospital in Igbekebo had been renovated not only to standard state hospital status but also well equipped with standard equipments and had employed over 67 medical staff.

Earlier, the monarch, Oba Amuseghan thanked the government for the support for the Land.

He said that 12 years was a long time for a community to be left without a monarch, but added that he would try his best to cover grounds, in terms of attracting more development to the land.

He added that the planned skill acquisition centre for the community, when completed will empower the children of the town to become self reliant and develop the entire land.

Earlier, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Col. Orire Nikoro, said the people of Apoi were proud of the king, for fostering unity among the people of the land.

Also, the Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government, Mr. Ojo Omolewa hailed the monarch for his positive impact on the communities in the area.

Omolewa reiterated government’s resolve to ensure that developmental projects continue in the area.

The Deputy Governor had earlier been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Oluomo of Apoi Land.

The Apoi Kingdom also honoured the Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson with a Chieftancy title.

The Deputy Chief of Staff in Ondo State , Dr Jimmy Kufo who was also bestowed the chieftaincy title of ‘Ajiroba of Apoi Land’ eulogised the monarch for attracting development to the town.
