ODSG assures Corps Members of security, welfare

Ondo State government has once again assured Corps Members posted to the state that their security and welfare the paramount to it and as such would do anything within its reach to maintain these.

The state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated this at the closing ceremony marking the end of the 2018 Batch ‘C’ (stream 1) Orientation Course  at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare Akoko.

The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Taofik Abdulsalam asked the Corps Members to contribute to the socio-economic and political development of the state and strive to put in their best and contribute productively in whatever sector of the economy they are eventually posted.

Akeredolu also charged the Corps Members to cultivate a healthy relationship with their host communities by integrating and appreciating their culture and traditions while at the same time do everything possible to live peacefully with them and also refrain from local politics.

He admonished them to impact positively on their host communities and transfer the knowledge acquired during the skill acquisition training to better their lots and stem the tide of unemployment in the country.

While congratulating them for the successful completion of the orientation course, the governor said the three- weeks programme has prepared them for challenges they may face in the course of their service year and beyond.

The Governor said that the NYSC in its struggle to ensure national development has instilled the value of patriotism, integrity, hard work, and unity among the corps members during the orientation exercise and in addition, values that will be useful to them in their lifetime.

He therefore commended the management of NYSC and all stakeholders for their efforts at ensuring that the Corps Members were properly and adequately groomed and monitored during the exercise.

A total of 1,990 Corps Members made of 989 males and 1,001 females completed the orientation course.
