ODSG assures investors on safety

Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Sunday Akinwalire has assured investors of adequate security within the state.

He gave the assurance while hosting an investor from China in his office in Akure on Tuesday.

He explained that Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has put in place structures to ensure adequate security of both lives and property, noting investors are free to carry out their activities provided they abide by the rules and regulations guiding their operation.

He described the meeting as a necessity to tutor the team, noting that they must operate within the confine of the law.

Akinwalire stressed the need for the team to do Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) report for the protection of environment.

According to him, before any company is established, there is need for EIA study to predict the impact on the environment, adding that it will also help in mitigating the effects.

The Commissioner who noted that no quarry company can start blasting without getting the study said that the Ministry recommends qualified consultants to do the study who according to him act as the intermediary between  Federal, State government and the company.

In his response, Wang Guo Qiang of Heng Sheng Quarry, Ita-Olorun, Idanre thanked the commissioner for a warm welcome assuring that they company will do the needful for the benefit of residents of the state.

However, he solicited more support from the Ministry for the smooth running of the establishment.
