ODSG commissions ORANGHIS house

In order to guarantee qualitative health care delivery in Ondo State, the  State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka has commissioned the Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS) house at the UNIMEDTH / Specialist hospital Akure.

The ORANGHIS house was renovated by the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) and also donated drugs and health commodities to the clinic of Ondo West Local Government in commemoration of its fifth year anniversary.

Giving his remarks at the event which took place at the premises of the hospital, Ajaka stated that it would encourage the provision of quality health care services to enrollees.

Commending the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission for putting in place the building, he stressed the need for the hospital to provide the needed service to residents calling for the motivation of health workers to improve their services.

In his welcome address, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof. Simidele Odimayo expressed appreciation to stakeholders in the health sector for their support for insurance scheme in the state.

He described the commissioning of the project as a testament and effectiveness of the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC), noting that it has helped in improving patients’ care in health facilities across the state.

In his opening remarks, Director-General, ODCHC, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin while thanking stakeholders for their support in ensuring the fulfillment of the mandate of the commission, expressed appreciation to Governor Ayedatiwa for putting the building in good shape to provide conducive atmosphere to deliver qualitative service to enrollees of the scheme.

He assured that such gesture would be replicated in all secondary facilities in the state by the commission.

He stressed the need for drug availability for enrollees stating that government is doing the needful in making drugs available in accredited health facilities for the scheme.

In his goodwill message, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Niran Ikuomola commended the commission for supporting the hospital in putting up the building urging its management to make good use of it for the benefit of the people.
