The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has inaugurated the Irele Local Government Sports Complex.
Aiyedatiwa who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Amidu Takuro commended the LG chairman Mr Olusegun Ajimotokin for his commendable efforts in bringing the project to fruition.
The Acting Governor disclosed that the stadium will bring sports development, talent discovery, and social progress within Irele local government.
He said the project will not only enhance sports development but also contribute to the overall development of the community.
He expressed confidence that the project stands as a significant achievement for the Akeredolu-led government and encouraged the youth to utilize the facility for their athletic aspirations.
Also, the Secretary to Odigbo Local Government, Mr. Oluwatosin Obamoyegun commended Ajimotokin and his team for the efforts geared towards the realization of the project while calling on the successive governments and the people of Irele Local Government not to abandon the project.
In the same vein, the Manager of Awawa 94.1 FM Radio, Chief Oluwole Akinbo praised the Chairman for the magnificent project and urged successive governments not to neglect the project so that it will continue to serve the purpose it was constructed for.
Similarly, Comrade Kehinde Adeyeye, representing Irele Local Government Students, lauded the LG chairman for prioritizing students’ welfare.
The President of the National Association of Irele Local Government Students (NAILGOS), equally presented a meritorious Award to Mr. Ajimotokin for his outstanding performance in office and immeasurable support for Nigerian students across the local government.
