ODSG decries violation of traffic rules

Special Adviser on Transport to Ondo State Governor, Tobi Ogunleye has warned road users who are in the habit of violating traffic rules and regulations in the state, especially the act of driving against traffic which is known as “One Way Driving” and overloading to desist from such acts.

He gave the advice in Akure, while fielding questions from journalists.

The Governor’s aide sternly condemned the act of recklessness and negligence of some road users who show no regards for other road users, noting that violation of Traffic Rules and Regulations is a strictly punishable offense under the domestic law and or the peremptory norms of public international law,

While stating that any offender caught shall face the full wrath of the law, Ogunleye warned all motorists, tricyclists and Okada operators to henceforth desist from driving against traffic, engaging in over loading and driving vehicles that are not road worthy in the state.

He frowned at the recent unwholesome attitude of some road users within Akure metropolis especially the newly dualised ShopRite / Oda road and other part of the State and advised all motorists, tricyclists  and okada riders to strictly adhere to the Traffic Rules and Regulations while plying road in other to prevent avoidable accidents or road accident related deaths.

Ogunleye vowed that anyone caught in the act of violating any of the Traffic Rules and Regulations in the State shall be arrested and duly prosecuted in the Mobile Court for Traffic Offenders in the state.
