Ondo State Government has distributed palliatives to 12 wards in Ilaje LG as part of efforts to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
Among the palliatives distributed are 1,200 bags of rice, which was shared among the 12 wards in the local government.
Speaking during the distribution, Ondo State Palliative Committee member for Ilaje Local government, Mrs Wunmi Fayemi Obayelu, Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Vice Chairman, House Committee on OSOPADEC urged the people to remain calm noting that the distribution is based on a mapped strategy to ensure that the vulnerable ones significantly benefit from the largess.

“”The Ondo State Government is not unmindful of the hardship and challenges faced by the citizenry, hence the need for distribution of the palliative.”
”The Governor who has given the go-ahead for this distribution is not leaving things to chance as other measures are also in the offing to reduce the prevailing economic hardship in the land,” Fayemi said.

The distribution which took place at NAVAL BASE Igbokoda, was peaceful as ward leaders ensured that the beneficiaries took the commodities meant to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal, which Ondo State government had painstakingly arranged for them.
Some of the political leaders from Ilaje who were present at the event were Mr. Nimbe Tawose, Mr. Oluyide Mekuleyi, and Mr. Gbenro Ogunfeyimi amongst others.
