Android tablets, textbooks and other instructional materials designed in tandem with emerging innovation in schools curriculum to enhance teaching have been distributed to schools in Ondo State.

The State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated this while flagging off the distribution of the instructional materials procured under the 2020 UBEC/SUBEB intervention fund in Akure, yesterday.

The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Education Science and Technology; Pastor Femi Agagu, hinted that his administration has invested massively in the states’ education sector across all levels.

“Aside our achievements in infrastructural development, there are other notable successes we have recorded to make our educational system functional.

“It is worth mentioning that we have continued to prioritize the welfare of teachers like other categories of workers in the state through regular promotion, conversion and advancement of qualified officers with payment of the financial benefits not minding the dwindling resources at the disposal of the state.

“The availability of instructional materials in schools goes a long way in achieving effective teaching and learning by our teachers and learners.

Akeredolu appealed to learners and teachers alike to make good use of this opportunity for the improvement of education in the State.

In his good will message, the Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, urged teachers to make adequate use of the instructional materials for the good of the pupils.

He urged teachers to ensure that they give their best to the pupils, stressing that nothing should hinder Ondo pupils from been the best across the nation.

Speaking earlier, SUBEB Chairman, Mr. Victor Olabimtan said “the drive for quality education is the major rationale behind the distribution of the instructional materials.

“Today’s occasion is another milestone in educational development in our sunshine State.

“The aim of the distribution of these materials is to ensure the availability of quality reading materials in schools so as to promote effective teaching and learning.
