ODSG, firm sign MoU on plant concession

Ondo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Liberitas Plc on the concession of the Brequette Manufacturing Plant beside the Ministry of Agriculture Annex , Ondo road, Akure.

The government said  this  will enhance the economy of the state and bring  private sector to collaborate in  development of its Assets

Signing the MoU on behalf of the state government, the SSG,  Princess Oladunni Odu said provision of employment opportunities for the teaming youths in the state was uppermost in the mind of the government

She charged the company not to renege on the terms of the agreement and the promise to give full consideration to the youth  when the plant becomes full operational.

Odu commended Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (  ONDIPA) and Ministry of Justice for showing a lot of diligence in putting up a well detailed document for the concession agreement with Liberitas Plc

“The Government on its part would  not default as we have obligated to do in the memorandum of understanding entered into with the PLC” she said.

Earlier on, the Secretary, ONDIPA , Mr . Emanuel Omomowo, while given the overview of the concession agreement, informed that the state government was desirous of reviving , rehabilitate and upgrading the plant with its facilities to an international commercial standard with higher capacity for the benefit of the people of the State under Public Private Partnership arrangement with Liberitas  Plc.

The plants according to him, was a pilot scheme acquired by the State Government in 2006 and that Liberitas Plc had expressed interest in understaken  the project for the promotion, financing, construction, rehabilitation, upgrading, operating and maintenance of the plant to produce brequette, wood chips or any bye- product with the capacity to process 500 tonnes of brequette.

In a  similar vein, the Secretary of the Company, Mr Femi Adigun thank the State Government for the great gesture and confidence repose on the management of the company and promised that the Company on its part would stick in details to the terms of agreement for the concession of the plant.

In attendance during the signing of the MOU were Mr. Boye Oyewumi, CEO, ONDIPA, Mrs Damilola Aladedutire the Legal Officer of the Agency while Mr. Eniola Ogunbodede, the Managing Director, Rynesis( AUGA) Agricultural Combine PLC stood in for the Chairman of Liberitas Plc, Kabiyesi Jacob Esan of Ijimo.
