ODSG launches health indices scorecard

In order to provide objective data that will enable stakeholders make informed decisions in allocating resources for improved health of residents, Ondo State Government has launched the Health indices scorecard for both year 2022 and 2023.

The launch took place at the Health Data Consultative Committee meeting for quarter one of year 2024.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Adeniran Ikuomola noted that the scorecard would be a directional guide on health indices, noting that it would help in making informed decision for the improvement of the health status of people.

He explained that it would aid resources allocation, quality measurement and benchmarking which enable the state to assess their performances and strive more for excellence.

He lauded the efforts of the Health Management Information System (HMIS) officers, noting that the development of the society and a good health care system rely on data for informed decisions.

While presenting the scorecard, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr Richard Adesoji said that the scorecard would help to run effective health system that would guarantee a healthy and productive citizenry as well as provide citizens access to their health data and performance metrics.

The 2022/2023 scorecard covers antenatal coverage, skilled birth attendance profile, contraceptive rate, Penta 3 coverage and IPTP2 among women in antenatal.
