ODSG, OAUSTECH, ECA sign MoU on Tech Hub
Ondo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with the Management of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology Okitipupa (OAUSTECH) and Emerging Communities Africa (ECA) for the take off of second TechHub in the state.
The tripartite agreement which was signed at the State Information Technology Agency Akure (SITA) is to enable the state maintain it leadership position in information and communication technology in the country.
Present at the ceremony were members of the state executive council, management staff of OAUSTECH management of Emerging Communities Africa ECA & top management of SITA.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde while highlighting the roles of each party in the agreement charged them to adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of the treaty.
According to the governor, his administration deliberately embarked on several ICT projects to enable youth develop applications and platforms that can drive and automate govt processes to expand the economy.
The Vice chancellor of OAUSTECH, Prof. Roberts Ogunduyile and the MD of Emerging Communities Africa, Mr Abraham Akpan both agreed that the establishment of Tech Hub at Okitipupa will further expose young hearts in the area to the competitive global economy through digital technology.
In an interview, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu said if properly harnessed by all parties, the accord would raise the bar of the education sector
Welcoming participants, SSA to the governor on ICT, Mr. Olumbe Akinkugbe said the establishment of the Tech Hub at Okitipupa is another promise fulfilled by the governor to spread the idea across the three senatorial districts of the state.
