ODSG pays athletes

Relief has come the way of Ondo State athletes  and their coaches as the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu  approved their  allowances .

The approval according to the General Manager of the State Sports Council, Mr Wande Fabuluje during a chat with the Sporting Hope said the governor’s approval was not in connection with the dissenting voice of some athletes in the council.

Fabuluje said the governor supposed to have approved the money before now but due to the security summit in Ibadan he was not on ground to  approve it.

He thanked the governor for the quick response for the council’s demand, saying it’s now left to the council to process the approval to physical cash .

The athletes had yesterday barricaded the entrance of the State Sports Council demanding for their allowances.

The General Manager said, normalcy has therefore returned to the council since the facts  and figure have been laid before  the athletes.

According to him,  he assured the athletes and the people of the state that the approval will be translated to physical cash quickly to forestall future misinformation.

“The state government has not been toying with the athletes and coaches allowances , because they are very dear to him”.
