ODSG promises completion of Idanre Golf Course

Ondo State Government yesterday said it was working towards completion of the 18-hole golf course situated in Idanre.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye stated this when he paid an unscheduled visit to the golf course in Idanre.

Yusuf-Ogunleye said the golf course, when completed, apart from being the purpose of sports, would boost tourism in the state.

The Commissioner noted that the place was never abandoned by the current administration, but has put up plans on how effective the place could be put to use.

He said it was part of the responsibility of government to ensure the place is put into use, even if it were through Public Private Partnership.

According to him, “if it is put in place, it will not only boost Tourism, but also serve as a means of creating employment  for our unemployed youths”.

We are calling on well meaning Nigerians to partner with the government, so that the dream and purpose of establishing the golf course  will come true .

While speaking the Caretaker Chairman of Idanre local government, Mr Biyi Ayannuola said all hands must be on deck to ensure that the place is put in shape for the purpose it was meant for .

He added that the council will liaise with all the necessary agencies to ensure that the golf course is put in shape  for the use of the people of the state.

On the entourage of the commissioner are; Ondo State NYSC coordinator, Mrs Grace Akpabio,  State Sports Council General Manager, Wande Fabuluje, Director of Sports in the ministry, Mrs Evelyn Lebi and Director, Youth Affairs, Mr Oluborode Olalekan among others .
