Others were 5333 in Electricity Board, House of Assembly Commission, Development and Property Corporation, State Radio Vision Corporation, Orange FM and Hospital Management Board.

Also included were from Sport Council, Water Corporation, Independent Electoral Commission and Pension Commission.

The State Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Dr. Afolabi Adewakun, stated this in a press briefing with newsmen in Akure.

The Hope gathered that the total number of staff promoted by the present administration in the state this year was higher than that of year 2017.

Adewakun, who said that the promotion which was the third to be carried out under his chairmanship commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his approval for the exercise this year which he described as unprecedented?

He said the promotion exercise for senior officers from grade level 07 to 17 were handled directly by the commission as the promoted 1,742 officers were based on the briefs forwarded to the commission by the Office of Head of Service, Office of Establishments and Training and various Ministries and Extra Ministerial Departments (MEDs)

According to him, since inception of Akeredolu-led administration in February, 2017, the welfare of workers has always been prioritized through motivation and incentives including promotion.

The chairman congratulated the newly promoted officers and tasked them on the need to see the promotion as call for more dedication and diligence to their duties.

He further advised them to remain loyal, disciplined and continuously add value as part of measures to reciprocate the good gesture of government.

While fielding questions from newsmen, Adewakun said cases of indiscipline among public servants in the state have reduced drastically as disciplinary actions are always taken against erring civil servants.
