ODSG restates commitment to school upgrade

The Ondo State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to continue to give priority to the infrastructural development of public schools across the state to make them conducive for both teaching and learning.
This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu, while distributing relief materials to schools affected by rainstorm in the state recently, in Akure, the State capital.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Akin Asaniyan described rainstorm as a natural disaster which is inevitable
He said the present administration under the leadership of Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has given the education sector adequate priority in the past two years to enhance its functionality as well as technological growth.
Agagu noted that the relief materials will go a long way to cushion the effect of the damage caused by the rainstorm, adding that Government has invested so much in the procurement of relief materials to ensure that academic activities in schools are not distrupted regardless of any unforeseen circumstances.
He therefore enjoined the principals of the schools to make Judicious use of the relief materials as the Ministry will embark on monitoring exercise to ensure their judicious use .
Some of the principals who spoke to newsmen expressed their gratitude to the state government for coming to their aid through the provision of the relief materials, and therefore pledged their commitment to duty towards ensuring positive results in the Education sector in the years ahead.
