ODSG seals 15 private clinics

For violating stipulated rules and regulations guiding operations of health facilities in Ondo State, the state fifteen private medical clinics in the Southern Senatorial District of the state.
The monitoring and enforcement team of the Department of Hospital Services of the Ministry of Health sealed off the facilities during its visits to health facilities in the district.
The team visited 36 medical clinics in Ore, Odigbo, Okitipupa, Ilutitun, and Iju-Odo among others.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Folukemi Aladenola averred that the exercise was geared towards enhancing qualitative healthcare delivery in Ondo State through eradicating of quackery and all forms of sharp practices.
According to the Ministry is determined to ensure realization of the core agenda of the present administration in the health sector as encapsulated in its 8-point development agenda code-named “REDEEMED” which are efficient service delivery and effective healthcare and social welfare services.
Aladenola said Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu -led administration will continue to prioritise the health of the citizenry and will not compromise on required standard in the health sector.
She said facilities found to have violated the stipulated rules and regulations would remain sealed until the operators are ready to comply.
Also speaking, Director, Hospital Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ayodele Adelusi reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to regulating the quality of health care delivery in Ondo State, both in public and private health facilities.
According to him, the quality of services in government health facilities must be the same at private health facilities.
Adelusi said the state government will not compromise on the essential requirements of a health facility including state of the facility, the quality of staff and standard of equipment saying erring facilities will be sealed off.
