ODSG sensitises intending pilgrims

Ondo state government yesterday sensitised 510 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for 2023 holy pilgrimage.

The sensitisation was done at the Muslim Welfare office in Akure.

Sensitizing the intending pilgrims, resource person, Imam Hussain Imoyomi charged the pilgrims not go along with any liquid substance, kolanut, bitter kola , palm oil and any of drugs.

AbdulGaniyu Bature in his own urged intending pilgrims to abide with the rules and regulations governing the Saudi authority.

Imam Abdulrofil Lagbagi urged them to submit their drugs to the health officers on board for approval if they are on routine medication who will administer those drugs for them while on pilgrimage.

Mrs Folake Ojo, Akure station, Federal Ministry of Health said that the intending pilgrims were vaccinated with Meningitis vaccine, Yellow fever and oral polio to protect them from contagious disease while on holy pilgrimage.

She said the oral polio will protect them for two years, the yellow fever for a life time and the Meningitis vaccine will cover five years.

State Chairman of Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dikrullah Chaney Adam said the intending pilgrims will leave Akure on Saturday June 3, 2023 for Ilorin where they will be airlifted on Sunday June 4, 2023 to Saudi Arabia, Mecca for the holy pilgrimage.
