The newly commissioned block of rooms at Ago Ireti

In order to make life more meaningful for residents of Ago Ireti settlement, Ondo state Government has constructed and commissioned two blocks of rooms in the community.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Awolowo Ajaka while commissioning the two blocks constructed in collaboration with Damien Foundation Belgium Nigeria (DFB) stated that the present  administration is poised towards making life easy for the settlers in the community.

While lauding the various achievement of the present administration, the Commissioner said having a conducive environment for people in the community is utmost in the heart of this administration as their monthly allowances have been paid till date

He promised that the residents of Ago Ireti would benefit from the Health Insurance scheme of the state Government to make health care service accessible and affordable for them

He lauded  Damien Foundation Belgium Nigeria for the various support they have given to the community in the areas of infrastructural development and provision of medical services to the residents while also charging them to continue to support the community.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Pharm Folukemi Aladenola in her welcome address appreciated the various interventions that Damien Foundation has been putting in place in the community purposely for the persons affected by Leprosy in the State,

She therefore assured of the ministry’s continuous Support as Joint Stakeholders for the One Health in the State.

The country Representative of the foundation , Mrs Ivy Sule, said about 22 rooms  have been constructed by their foundation in the community while also appreciating  government for supporting the foundation through the provision of enabling environment for people of the community.

She stressed the need for stakeholders to join hands together in ensuring zero leprosy and also reduce  stigma in  society.

The secretary of the settlement, Mr Tunji Oluwatimilehin noted that aside from the construction of  building for their settlement, the foundation has built toilets, provided boreholes  and purchased generator set for their community.

He appreciated the state government and Damien Foundation Belgium Nigeria for the various projects in their community
