ODSG to host 6,000 African young entrepreneurs

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has expressed  readiness of the state to host the 6th convention of Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E) billed for December, this year.

This is in furtherance of his commitments at exposing young people to entrepreneurship and attracting private sector investments .

The Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs, A.Y.E, a platform created for budding entrepreneurs at making them attain high level of success in business development through mentorship and mutual networking  by captains of industry was established by an Ondo State indigene, Mr Summy Smart Francis,  who doubles as the President of A.Y.E.

Presenting the profile of the organization to the state Governor, Mr Francis said, the ultimate desire of A.Y.E was to make African young population economically productive for the viability of the entire African continent .

He said A.Y.E which is developing young entrepreneurs within the age of 18 and 45 with 12.6 million members in 20 African Countries was pursuing its programmes through knowledge transfer and making available business resources to young persons who have  creative business acumen.

Receiving the A.Y.E  team,  Governor, Akeredolu said Ondo State was willing to collaborate with the organization to host the entrepreneurial convention billed to hold on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Arakunrin Akeredolu used the occasion to highlight the efforts of his administration at exploring the entrepreneurial potentials of youths in the state through programmes such as  agropreneurs and the establishment of Tech-Hub, which according to him is an ICT based initiative.

He commended A.Y.E projects for concentrating on giving back to the people and reaching out to the poorest of the poor so as to make them self reliant in the future.

 Akeredolu informed that the state has also gathered a number of young entrepreneurs under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) programmes.

The convention with the  theme, “Enterprenuership Intervention for Poverty Eradication,” would acquaint participants with the methodologies by which young entrepreneurs and students of tertiary institutions can access zero interest loans without collateral under the organization’s Enter Cycle Fund for Grassroots to grow business ideas and SMEs of young people.
