Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologun has said the government is determined to rid the youth of unethical street culture.

He added that the government has initiated policy interventions that have started yielding positive results .

Ologun stated this while declaring open a two-day training on CCTV surveillance for selected youths in the state held at the state Secretariat annex hall, Akure.

He said the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development deliberately partnered with “Dahua Tech” to empower youths and make them self reliant .

According to him, “given the present economic situation, human development is capital intensive for the state resources alone to cope with”.

“This is why it becomes imperative for private sector to support with the needed resources to drive all- round development to the next level in line with the Public -Private Partnership initiative”

“We are determined to make available more resources through training and re-training of more youths,while creating enabling environment for all prospective partners to operate effectively in line with goal 17 of the SGD”.

As we are committed to sustainable youth employment ,this 2-day capacity building training is intended to unlock and re-invent your creative potential and provide another opportunity for you to either start or scale up your existing businesses” .

In his welcome address, Permanent Secretary  of the Ministry, Ajibola Ogidan urged youths to think out of the box and seek their fortune in self -employment by taking advantage of the windows of opportunities provided by government .

Ogidan said: “Youths should key into government’s  new value of zero tolerance for idleness , poverty,indolence and hunger.

 There is no short -cut to success except through hard work”.

The instructor and representative of Dahua Technology, Mr Osagie Lawrence said it’s part of their social responsibilities to ensure that youths are empowered  and become self reliant.

Some of the participants who spoke with newsmen said they were happy with the 2-day training capacity they added that aside the fact that and  will become self employed, they will also become an employer of labour in no distant time .
