Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group reaffirms commitment to education, youth empowerment

As schools across the country resume for a new academic term, the Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group has restated its commitment to promoting education, youth leadership, and community development in Akure and beyond.

Led by Hon. Ayodeji D. F. Oluleye, the Group has consistently implemented programmes aimed at inspiring young minds, strengthening educational institutions, and fostering social responsibility.

In 2021, the organisation carried out an Education Empowerment Outreach that benefited over 200 pupils of Canaanland Community Primary School, Ijoka Road, Akure. The initiative, which provided free school bags, notebooks, writing materials, and sanitation supplies, was well received by teachers, parents, and community leaders.

In 2024, to commemorate his 40th birthday, Hon. Oluleye hosted a Colloquium and Public Lecture themed “Youth, Leadership and Entrepreneurship.” The event brought together stakeholders, young innovators, and community leaders to deliberate on youth inclusion in governance and enterprise. Following the event, more than a dozen students from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), were enrolled in an entrepreneurial mentorship and capacity-building programme.

The Group also embarked on free fumigation, sanitation, and pest control exercises at Oyemekun Grammar School and St. Peter’s Unity Secondary School, Akure — Hon. Oluleye’s alma mater. In addition, dozens of motivational and inspirational books were donated to the schools’ libraries.

“Our goal is to raise a generation of thinkers, builders, and doers,” Hon. Oluleye said. “Education, mentorship, and service remain the bedrock of sustainable leadership and community progress.”

Through its consistent interventions, the Ògo Àkúré Mandate Group continues to position Akure as a centre for innovation, empowerment, and leadership development. The Group reaffirmed its vision to drive inclusive growth, youth capacity development, and civic engagement across Ondo State and beyond.
