‘Oil Palm Producers to benefit from N30b loan ‘

The Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) has affirmed that oil palm producers in Ondo State will also benefit from the N30billion loan facility for oil palm production being disbursed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The State Chairman of NASSI, Mr Greatseyi Akintunde made this declaration in an interview with The Hope in Akure.
His words: “Ondo State is in the know of the disbursement of N30billion for oil palm production, we are only trying to work out the modalities of accessing the fund I assure you that the state will benefit”.
He noted that the state requires sensitization and mobilization as he reassured that the state will definitely take a large chunk from the fund
He said the association has embarked on registration of palm oil producers across the villages to ascertain the number of people producing palm oil in the state
The chairman urged oil producers to keep up with their production, saying the association has been agitating to have effective control on the quality and quantity of the produce
“There will be a laboratory to enhance quality produce and government should look into the area critically our farmers should also be hygenic enough to make use of the latest technology in palm oil production “, he said.
Reacting on the ongoing national industrial data base, Akintunde disclosed that a total of 3,640 industrialists have been captured.
Akintunde said the state has some industrial processes which need to be grown due to the dwindling economy .
Government, he said should be more proactive in developing industries in all the 18 local government areas of the state.
“There are industries looking up for government for development, so we have not concluded the process of capturing them. The exercise continues and it requires funding assistance to complete the job”, he said.
He called on the government to take it up from the association to see how many could be captured in all the local government areas.
