Okada man docked over reckless driving

A motorcyclist, Oguneso Seun has been remanded in prison by an Okitipupa Magistrate Court for allegedly driving recklessly and without a driver’s licence culminating in the death of a 65-year-old man, Akinsoloyin Paul.

Seun was said to have committed the offence on July 25 at about 1:pm along Okitipupa/Igbokoda road by riding an unregistered Qlink motorcycle in a manner dangerous to the public.

The prosecutor, Inspector Orogbemi Zedekiah told the court that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 18(1) of the traffic cap 136 Vol 3,laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.

He was therefore arraigned on three count charge.

When the charges was read to him, he pleaded guilty to the 1st and 2nd charge but not guilty to the 3rd count of driving without driver’s licence.

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Musa AL – Yunus ordered that the defendant should be remanded in Okitipupa prison and adjourned the case till 18th, September for further hearing.
