Okitipupa, Ese-Odo, Irele, Ilaje propose 23 LCDAs

No fewer than 23 LCDAs have been proposed to be carved out of the existing four local governments of Okitipupa, Eseodo, Irele and Ilaje as the committee on creation of LCDAs moved there for the public hearing.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the committee, Prince Adelanke Odogiyan said government is aware that agitations for LCDAs creation had been on for decades in different parts of the state.
He assured them that all the memoranda would be well considered and recommendations would be made to the state government adding that they would hear from the state government.
For Ese-Odo local government, five LCDAs were proposed to be created and they include Ese-Odo North LCDA with the headquarters in Igbobini, Arogbo North LCDA with the headquarters in Arogbo, Arogbo South LCDA with the headquarters in Uparamo, Apoi Central LCDA with the headquarters in Igbotu and Apoi South LCDA with the headquarters in Igbekebo.
In Ilaje Local Government, eight LCDAs were proposed to be carved out of it including Ilaje Central with the headquarters in Ode Ugbo, Ilaje South West with the headquarters in Aheri/Etikan, Ilaje South with the headquarters in Ode Mahin, Ilaje North West with the headquarters in Atijere.
Others include Ilaje East with the headquarters in Ode Jirinwo, Ilaje West with the headquarters in Araromi seaside and Ilaje East, West and Central with the headquarters in Ode Ugbo.
In Irele, only two LCDAs were proposed to be carved out of the local government and they include Ikale South East with the headquarters in Akotogbo and Ikale East with the headquarters in Ajagba.
For Okitipupa Local Government, a total of eight LCDAs were proposed to be carved out of it and they include Ikale North with the headquarters in Ode Aye, Ikale West with the headquarters in Ikoya, Okitipupa West with the headquarters in Erekiti Luwoye and Osooro with the headquarters in Ijuodo.
The rest are Ikale West with the headquarters in Ilutitun, Osooro with the headquarters in Igbotako, Igbotako Osooro with the headquarters in Igbotako and Ikale South LCDA with the headquarters in Ode-Igbodigo.
Speaking with The Hope shortly after the exercise, one of the sponsors from Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom, High Chief Jibowu Williams said the people have been on the struggle for more than four decades and pleaded with the government to ensure the physical manifestation of the exercise.
Describing the programme as a wonderful one, Williams prayed that God will give the governor the wisdom to drive the process to a logical conclusion.
