Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is currently undergoing rehabilitation after successfully undergoing surgery to repair a wrist injury sustained during a match between his club Udinese and Genoa in Serie A.

The club earlier confirmed that the operation addressed damage to the scapholunate ligament in Okoye’s right wrist.

Okoye, who has become an essential figure for Udinese since joining from Watford, missed the team’s recent 2-1 victory over Monza due to the injury.

The Nigerian international has made a significant impact on the pitch, featuring in fifteen matches across all competitions this season and keeping four clean sheets.

The surgery, performed by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the renowned La Madonnina clinic in Milan, was described as a complete success.

Following the procedure, Okoye has commenced rehabilitation, with hopes of a swift recovery.

“Maduka Okoye underwent surgery to repair the injury to the scapholunate ligament of his right wrist,” the club confirmed.

Having struggled to find his form at Watford after an impressive stint with Sparta Rotherdam, Okoye has rejuvenated his career with Udinese.

As he embarks on his recovery journey, the Super Eagles goalkeeper will be eager to return to action and solidify his position in the team.
