Oleyelogun promises robust legislation for socio-economic growth

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Bamidele Oleyelogun, has expressed the readiness of the ninth Assembly to surpass the laudable achievements of the 8th Assembly to further bring all-round development to the State.
He said that the ninth Assembly would focus more on legislations that would enhance industrial development of the state and improve socio-economic well-being of the people.
Oleyelogun who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists in Akure, the Ondo state capital, also expressed the readiness of the 9th Assembly to collaborate with the executive and other arm of government to further bring more meaningful development to the State and enable the people enjoy more dividends of good governance under the present administration led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
He particularly appreciated all the leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state starting from the state governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, the state APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and others for their support and the confidence reposed on him starting from the 8th Assembly till now.
The Speaker equally thanked his colleagues in the Assembly for the rare privilege given him by electing him as their Speaker in the 9th Assembly, promising not to let them down.
Oleyelogun promised to continue to be transparent, offer quality leadership and run an open door policy that will give every member a sense of belonging.
“Appointing me again as the Speaker of the 9th Assembly is very uncommon and I shall not misuse the opportunity. I also appreciate the rare love and encouragement I received from everybody in the state, I cherish this so much.
“In this 9th Assembly, Ondo state should expect more reasonable harmonious relationship with other arms of government in order to enhance continuous industrial, infrastructural and socio-economic development of our dear state.
“As law-making representatives of the people, we shall not be rubber stamp, but we shall ensure consistent passage of laws that will fast track industrial development and economic growth”, he added.
