Olowo brokers peace between rival political groups

The ancient kingdom of Owo can now heaved a sigh of relief as the Olowo of Owo,Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye -III, waded into the misunderstanding between the same rival political groups in the town.
Oba Ogunoye who was disturbed by the exchange of gun shots in the town by supporters of the groups who are allegedly known to be political thugs, which nearly turned the community into theatre of war, quickly rose to his responsibility by calling for a truce.
The monarch was joined in the course of settling the misunderstanding by the High Chiefs led by the Ojumu of Owo, High Chief Olanrewaju Famakinwa, religious leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria Owo Chapter, Rev Dr Joshua Oladapo, the Muslim Community led by the Chief Imam of Owo,Alhaji Ahmed Aladesawe and scores of other notable community leaders.
After hearing from both sides, Oba Ogunoye with the support of the mediating leaders in attendance, passionately appealed to them to give peace a chance and sheath their swords saying, drumming for war in a community agitating for development is not right and they cannot afford to watch in disdain and allow act of hooliganism to rear its ugly head in the town.
In their reactions, leaders of the warring groups appreciated the prompt intervention of Oba Ogunoye and community leaders for their efforts in nipping in the bud what would have resulted into an intense violence when the proper politicking has not even commenced.
They however promised to end hostilities henceforth and pledged their unflinching support for the progress and development of the kingdom.
