The late Olowo of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru Olagbegi III, has been described as a rare gem, first among equals, and a special Oba.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye made this description during his condolence visit to the Olowo’s Palace on Tuesday.

Adeboye who said he was in Owo to condole with the family of the late Olowo, the chiefs and the entire Owo people described the late monarch as a devoted christian.

The General Overseer said ordinarily, he would not have been in Owo, but for the fact that Oba Olagbegi was a special breed who served God with all his life

Describing the reign of the late monarch as peaceful, he said although his appointment was greeted with some crises but through prayers, peace reigned at the end of the day.

He therefore offered prayer for peace to continue to reign in the town and for the selection of a new king who will be God’s choice

Adeboye was accompanied by top echelon of the church while hundreds of Redeemed Church faithful from Owo also converged at the palace to welcome him.
