Olowo leads Igogo festival procession in Owo

The 2024 edition of the internationally renowned Igogo festival in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, reached its climax today as the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, danced around the town.
Oba Ogunoye, accompanied by his retinue of chiefs, notable figures in Owo, sons and daughters of the town at home and abroad, cultural enthusiasts, and lovers of the festival from around the world, is currently leading a procession through major parts of the town.
The procession, which started from the Ugha Nla court of the magnificent Olowo Palace, features various traditional musicians, especially metal gong experts, performing sonorous and philosophical songs.
Earlier, before the procession commenced, the Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Olaide Adelami, accompanied by his aides, visited the Ugha Nla to celebrate with the Olowo and the people of Owo.
