Oba Ogunoye who is an alumnus of the University, gave the assurance when the Council of AAUA Alumni Association and members of Owo branch paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
He said, “First, let me thank AAUA Alumni President, Mr. Oyekunle Adetoba and his team for thinking it appropriate to visit me. Second, I am happy to be a part of the success story of AAUA and I’m proud of its achievements within the 20 years of its existence; and I will be ready to support your programmes and activities when necessary for the growth of our University.”
The monarch urged the leadership of the associations and other members to continue to work for the progress of AAUA, noting that alumni associations all over the world, play developmental roles to their alma maters.
Earlier, President of the Association, Mr. Oyekunle Adetoba, had, on behalf of all members, congratulated Oba Ogunoye on his ascension to the throne .
According to Adetoba “The Association is very proud to have an alumnus of AAUA as a royal father. Having our alumnus as the Olowo and the fact that late Pa. Michael Adekunle Ajasin after whom the University was named was from Owo, imply that Owo is a home to all alumni of the University.”
While stating that the association has been contributing to the development of the University which had had huge positive impact on students and other stakeholders in the past four years of its inauguration, Adetoba sought the support of the monarch.
He listed annual Student Empowerment Programme, launching of Education Trust Fund scheme and the on-going construction of students’ hostel as parts of the activities of the Association.
