The Olu of Eleyowo, Oba Adesina Agunbiade last week presented his letter of approval recognising him as an Oba from Ondo State Government to his subjects.
The subjects, home and in the Diaspora and notable guests were at the elaborate gathering held in the heart of the town
The letter of approval is an evidence of his elevation to the Obaship status by the Ondo State Government.
The Olu of Eleyowo is one of the 62 Chiefs that were recognized for upgrading into the status of recognized Oba by the Justice C.E.T Ajama report recently approved by the Ondo State Executive Council
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner in the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye noted that the occasion was only meant to notify residents of the community about the approval of the state governor for his elevation.
He hinted that a special day will be announced for the presentation of the Staff of Office.
In his acceptance speech, while soliciting for the cooperation of residents of Eleyowo, Oba Agunbiade appreciated God for the privilege of witnessing the occasion.
“Today, the Oloba of Oba gets a newly born child. What we are doing here today is memorable and this is all because we have received the favor of this present administration.
“This is my seventh year as the Olu of Eleyowo and ever since my inception, there has never been any record of catastrophe.”
He attributed all his achievements to God Almighty and solicited for the continual cooperation of Eleyowo residents as he has been newly installed as the Oba.
While congratulating Agunbiade, the Adapogun of Ipogun, Oba Raphael Oluwadare charged him never to deviate from his nature as a gentle elder State man.
“I have known Agunbiade since childhood and he is like a younger brother to me, calm, mature and well composed. I want to admonish him never to deviate from who he used to be particularly now that he has been called to a higher office.”
