A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has urged party loyalists and supporters to vote en masse for the APC in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026.
Senator Omisore made the call while officially declaring his intention to contest the governorship election at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo, where a large crowd of supporters and party members gathered in solidarity.
“The only way to move Osun forward is for everyone to vote APC en masse come August 8, 2026,” Omisore said.
He described the event as a demonstration of the strength and preparedness of the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the party primaries and the general election.
“This gathering reflects the readiness of core APC members from across the state. It shows how prepared we are to ensure that I emerge as the party’s candidate by God’s grace in December, and it strengthens the confidence of the people in the incoming APC-led government,” he said.
Senator Omisore expressed confidence in securing the party’s ticket, adding that internal mobilisation efforts have been strong and widespread.
“APC’s chances in 2026 are 100 percent. These are not just supporters from the streets — these are committed party volunteers from every part of the state. This is internal politics, and it’s part of our preparation for the primaries,” he added.
“If the primaries were held today, I would win over 90 percent of the votes. By God’s grace, I will emerge as the candidate and lead APC to victory come next August.”
He further emphasised the need for responsible leadership in Osun, stating: “People are expecting mature and visionary governance — not entertainment. They want meaningful improvements in education, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, capital growth, and impartial policies. Governance is not a dancing matter — it is a serious business for serious-minded people.”
Also speaking at the event, APC chieftain Mr. Ajibola Famurewa said members present were drawn from all wards across the state and had unanimously called on Omisore to enter the race.
“These are the true foot soldiers of the party who asked Senator Omisore to run. With their support, we are confident he will emerge as our candidate. As a former deputy governor, he is the most experienced among the aspirants and has what it takes to lead the APC to victory,” Famurewa said
