Omoloja re-elected NAPTAN chair

Chairman of the National Association of  Parents Teachers of Nigeria (NAPTAN), Ondo State chapter, Alhaji Abimbola Omoloja has  been re-elected the  Chairman of the association with other executives to man the affairs of the association for the next four years.

The election which was conducted in a peaceful manner had the officials of the Ministry  of Education   led  by the Permanent Secretary, Rev Akin Asaniyan in attendance.

Earlier in his remarks,the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Rev Akin Asaniyan noted that  the present administration respects  the PTA as they play a pivotal role in the development of schools in the state.

” Today, we have  committed  executives  who have  helped a lot in the administration of  schools in the state,so we know the big role you play ” he said.

He noted that the roles of PTA go beyond just coming together, adding that without the PTA,there will not be good administration of schools.

He said the present administration places  important premium on education, hence the renovation of schools across the state, so that quality education could be achieved.

Agagu therefore called on the PTA to continue to support the present administration, especially in the area of infrastructure, so as to give the pupils and students good and quality education.

” We are still requesting that  you should continue to assist us further especially in the area of infrastructure. Government cannot do it alone.

After the election,he commended them for the peaceful way  in  which they conducted the election,calling on the new executives to ensure that levies collected are accounted for and used for the development and building of  infrastructures in schools across the state.

He appreciated all the delegates and those who conducted the election, saying it is a good beginning.

In an interview with the new Chairman who said he was highly elated to have won the election unopposed,  he noted that the development shows that the members realised that he has performed beyond expectations.

Omoloja who said he dedicated the victory to all pupils in primary schools, students in secondary and Tertiary institutions in the state posited that the new exco will perform  better  than expected in the next four years.
