ONDIPA to implement signed MoU

Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA) will begin the implementation of all signed memoranda of understanding with credible investors this year.
The Secretary of the Agency, Mr Emmanuel Omomowo disclosed this in an interview with The Hope at the weekend in Akure.
Omomowo said the agency was fully prepared financially with it’s available human resources declaring 2019 as year of harvest for industrial development in the state.
He mentioned some of the activities lined up for implementation which includes Ethanol, sugar cane value chain projects, others are full development of the deep sea port, free trade zone, Wa Dong project, construction of Araromi, Okitipupa,Ondo and Akure express roads as well as the egg powderization project among others.
According to him, the sugar cane value chain project, is the production of sugar and ethanol in the state which was signed with Cocaset Nigeria Limited. He noted that the company was at the point of importing its equipment for installation.
He said development of the sugar cane plantation had started at Ikaro community in Ose Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Omomowo noted that government had consumated the ethanol project in collaboration with the NNPC through signing of the MoU and work had begun on the site.
Government, he said had cleared and carried the perimeter survey of 3,000 hectares of land for cassava for ethanol project. He disclosed that over $17million would be spent on the project.
Also mentioned is the egg powderization project with the Greenfield Asset Limited at Emure Ile which had been estimated to cost #42billion.
” They are expected to move to site this January. The project will be in phases. 500 thousand eggs will be required daily for egg powderization and the machine will process those eggs for confectionery purposes and other uses”, he explained.
According to the secretary, production of 10million eggs per annum and production of about 500 tons of frozen chicken are another segments of the project.
He disclosed that the construction of silos for rice production had begun while arrangement for equipment of about 137 ,500 tons per annum capacity is being awaited for delivery at Igbara Oke.
