Ondo 2020: Embrace unity, clerics admonish politicians

Clerics from Christian and Islamic faiths have urged the members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State to embrace unity and harmony as well work together for the party to be victorious in the coming governorship election in the state.

The clerics also admonished leaders in the party to do the needful to bring together aggrieved members to work for the common goal of the party to achieve success in the governorship poll.

They stated this at a special prayer organised by the party to mark its activities in the new year.

Speaking, the Special Apostle Charles Ajepe of Cherubim and Seraphim Church Movement, Akure, noted that 2020 is a crucial year for the party and has a lot to do to record another victory in the coming poll.

According to him, ” God’s blessing depends on unity and harmony through which success can be achieved.

“You   must be fused in single entity and understand power of unity as solution to success.

“You all need to work for the party from unit to wards, local government and state levels for the victory of the party”.

The Imam of Igoba Mosque, Akure, Alhaji Busari Yusuf on his part, urged the leaders and members in the party to have fear of Allah in all their endeavours and sustain unity for the progress of the party and the entire state.

Yusuf also admonished all the state executive and members of the party to see themselves as one and not derail from the interest of the party that bind them together to serve the state and its people.

While admonishing them on the need for the sustainability of peaceful coexistence being enjoyed in the state, the Islamic cleric noted that progress can only be record where there is atmosphere of peace.

Speaking with journalists, the State Chairman, APC , Mr. Ade Adetimehin, said the prayer was organised to usher in the activities of the party into the new year.

He expressed optimism as God will answer the prayer of the party before , during and after the election.

Adetimehin assured that the needful will be done to sustain unity and peace within the party and the state in general.

The chairman implored the members of the party across the 18 local government areas of the state to remain steadfast and sustain unity in the party ahead and after the poll.

He reiterated the commitment of the party and the Akeredolu-led administration towards improving the welfare of the people in state.

The highlights of the event include the prayer for the peaceful coexistence in the state and the country in general.

Dignitaries at the occasion include the State Commissioner  for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs.. Titi Adeyemi her counterparts from Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,  Deaconess Lola Fagbemi and also from Agriculture  Mr. Gboyega Adefarati among other political appointees.
