Ahead of the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, the Zenith Labour Party in the State has said it would soon come out with the details of its plans for the poll.
The State Chairman of the party, Dr Joseph Akinlaja said this after a meeting of the party’s executive members in Akure, the state capital.
He said the party was in prime position to successfully pursue its agenda of bringing a development-focused government into position in the state and it is busy reviving its machinery in that regard.
“As much as the Covid-19 era has allowed, we have been busy organizing and strategizing and will soon come out with the modalities for our participation in the elections,” Akinlaja noted .
He added that the leadership of the party in the State, led by the immediate past Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has been brainstorming with leaders across the state on how best to bring to bear the kind of government that will aggregate the core values of the party.
He encouraged citizens to stay safe, keep to all directives on COVID19 so as to prevent further spread of the scourge.
In a related development, the state executive of the party also visited the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bolaji Salami, where he was enjoined to be free, fair and open to all , as the state prepares for election.
The ZLP Chairman who charged the police to maintain neutrality and be committed to the discharge of its duties in the State, promised that the party as a law-abiding organization will work with them to further ensure peace in the State.
