The past week witnessed significant strides for Ondo State as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa reinforced his administration’s commitment to attracting investments and advancing infrastructure development.

On Tuesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the State’s position as an investment-friendly destination during a meeting with the management board of Sahara Energy at his office in Akure.

The visit came on the heels of the company’s recent licensing by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to operate two new oil fields in Ilaje Local Government area.

The governor assured the company of his administration’s readiness to support its operations and provide a secure, enabling environment. He also urged host communities to collaborate with the company, stressing that development thrives on partnerships between the government, investors, and the people.

“We remain committed to maintaining Ondo as the safest state in the country and fostering an investor-friendly climate,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated.

Sahara Energy’s Chairman, Engr. Funsho Kupolokun, described the visit as a strategic step towards commencing operations, pledging the company’s adherence to state regulations.

On Wednesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa took another step towards enhancing infrastructure by visiting the Abuja headquarters of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).

The governor held a closed-door meeting with the Director-General, Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, to explore how the State could leverage the ICRC’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework for infrastructure development.

Later that day, Governor Aiyedatiwa joined other state governors on a condolence visit to Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, following the tragic fire incident in Niger State.
