The Commander, Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has cleared the air on the robbery incident in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

It was gathered that a man who withdrew a huge sum of money was  accosted and robbed along the road in his car together with his friend.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday between the hours of 12:30 and 1pm which got commuters worried as they have not heard of such incident in a very long time in the state.

Reacting,  Commander, Ondo Adeleye said; “A distress call intimated us of a robbery incident around  in Akure and we immediately swung into action from our nearest point.

“On getting there, we saw a man who went to collect  money from the bank had been robbed on his way back along Road.”

Adeleye who also doubles as the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security Matters, has assured  people of the state that there was no bank robbery anywhere in the state as security agencies are investigating the incident.

According to him, “The people of Ondo state should relax and enjoy themselves. There was nothing like bank robbery and there won’t be any like that.

“But, what we request from the people is that, they should give us  timely and adequate information if they notice any move that is unconventional.

“Let us adhere to the slogan;” If you see something say something”, this will enable us to act immediately.

The Amotekun boss also  cleared the air on the alarm raised by residents of Ose local government area saying” We have gone into the forest and we have addressed the situation.

“There was influx of cattle into the state from Ose local government area four days ago and our men have driven them back to where they came from and everything  been settled.

“I want to tell the people from Ose local government area of the state, that there is no cause for alarm. We are in the forest and Operation Gba’le Gba’ko’ is still ongoing” he said.”
