Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps has approved the release of motorcycles impounded during the after 6pm ban of motorcycles in Akure.
The State Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye stated this on Wednesday in a statement made available to newsmen.
Adeleye who doubles as the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Security Matters said the release of the impounded motorcycles was in response to passionate appeals by persons whose motorcycles were impounded.
He stated that the motorcycles will be released between Wednesday, July 12 to Tuesday, July 25, 2023, after payment of ₦10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) to the Board of Internal Revenue Account.
“Motorcycle operators and the general public are to note that the ban is still in force and any further violation by the same motorcyclist shall attract permanent forfeiture to government.
“This window is open only to those who have their motorcycles registered before they were impounded.
“Evidence of ownership and particulars should be provided at the Command’s Headquarters of Amotekun Corps, Alagbaka, before payment.
“The exercise will last until 4pm on Tuesday, 25th July, 2023,“ he stated.
