Ondo Amotekun trains 600 recruits

The Corps Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said 600 successful candidates shortlisted out of the 14,500 applicants have commenced Basic Regular Training Course.
Adeleye made this known during the opening ceremony of the training programme at the Technical College in Owo.
The Commander said successful candidates who have scaled through were shortlisted for the training.
He said, they will undergo basic Amotekun training which include intelligence, combat, arm usage, monitoring, quick response among others security issues.
His words: “For now training and retraining are continuous. They will be trained by professionals which will last for a month”
The Amotekun boss advised them to be transparent and shun all vices as Amotekun core will not tolerate any act of indiscipline.
“There are 600 trainees as well as instructors who are professionals in their respective fields.
He told them to abide by the rules and regulations as regimentation and discipline are the order of the day.
“You will undergo series of lectures, drills, basic tactics and weapon handling during the course of your training. These would be carefully fashioned purposefully to bring out the best in you.
The Amotekun boss warned that every trainee should make sure they stick to rules and regulations of the program that any trainee seen imbibing non Amotekun culture would be immediately dismissed.
“The people before you became the bright because of their dougedness and dedication to the society.
The commander warned that Amotekun is not an avenue to oppress another nor embarking on corruption from any one.
“It’s not everyone that started the course that finished. It depends on how much you put out in the training you get”. he said
Also speaking the Senior Special Assistance to the Ondo State Government Alahaji Jimoh Dojumo emphasised that the Government has put everything in place to ensure adequate security in the state.
“We have declared the training opened today and advised them on the rules and regulations guarding the Corps.
“Because they were drawn from different bow grand from the hunters and OPC, Vigilante and various freedom fighters who have on their own contributed to security in the state.
“We are bringing them together to drop what they think they now to imbibe in them the Amotekun culture in the next six weeks.” he said.
